Come out of the closet Barrack Obama!

Marijuana is the New Gay Initiative

A friend  phoned me with a voice of enthusiasm and said, Kristen Dunst just came out! “She’s gay?” I asked. “No she smokes pot.”

Do we really have to come out of the closet for smoking a little grass?

Apparently we do. In the early days, Obama’s Justice Department said chasing after pot growers and users was a poor use of federal resources. In 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the Justice Dept. will no longer raid medical marijuana clubs that are established legally under the state law.  His declaration was the fulfillment of a campaign promise by Obama, and marked a major shift from the previous administration.

Those Days are gone. Medical Marijuana is now under attack by the White House Administration.  In a June 29th memo,  Attorney General James M. Cole wrote: Marijuana is illegal and the federal government can prosecute any user any time for growing, selling, or transporting it, state law be damned.

Once again we have a president who doesn’t keep his campaign promises. He professed to love us, but in reality he just fucked us. Why the change of heart? Could it be the 2012 election? Trying to please the rich republicans that he intends to tax? If  Cannabis were legal we wouldn’t have to tax the rich.

Yes we Cannabis!

Along with these recent statements will soon come raids, arrests and possible prosecutions.  The DEA receives its next big funding check by July 18th and patients across California are bracing for increased federal harassment.

It is time for President Obama to come out of  Mary Jane’s closet. We know he can, but he needs our help!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MEDICAL MARIJUANA PATIENTS & ADVOCATES HOLD RALLIES IN LOS ANGELES & SAN FRANCISCO MONDAY, JULY 18TH AT NOON TO ADDRESS THE COLE MEMORANDUM

Patient Advocates Fear Hostile Federal Actions On Collectives

LOS ANGELES – July 13, 2011 – Medical cannabis patients and supporters
will gather for peaceful demonstrations in Los Angeles and San Francisco
on Monday, July 18, 2011, at 12 p.m. to express concerns about further
federal raids and criminal prosecutions in states with medical cannabis
laws since the issuance of the Cole Memorandum.

Activists and speakers will gather in Los Angeles on Monday, July 18,
2011, at 12 p.m. at City Hall Park on the corner of W. Main and E. 1st
Streets in downtown Los Angeles.

Activists and speakers will gather in San Francisco on Monday, July 18,
2011, at 12 p.m. in front of the State Building at 455 Golden Gate between
Larkin and Post.

The Drug Enforcement Agency receives funding this week and tension in the
patient community is thick.  “Some of the larger federal actions in
California have come soon after the DEA has received their funding,”
states Degé Coutee, Director of Patient Advocacy Network, a charitable
medical cannabis patient education and advocacy organization.  “Patients
fear hostile federal action anytime.”

On June 29, 2010, U.S. Deputy Attorney General issued a memo clarifying
that States’ medical marijuana laws are not exempt from federal
prosecution under the Controlled Substances Act.  “We don’t need
clarification of existing federal law; we need a change in federal law,”
states Shona Gochenaur, Executive Director for Axis of Love Community
Center, Inc., a social service organization for low income, disabled
patients. “Removing cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act removes
the federal jeopardy.”
