Marin Alliance VS IRS Fundraiser

"Jam for Justice" Fundraiser for Legal Defense.

On March 1st, 2011 Marin Alliance for Medical Marijuana was the first licensed collective to receive an IRS determination that no business tax deductions are allowed. The first preliminary hearing on the case is Nov. 8th.  At the same time, Marin Alliance is also being targeted by the Dept. of Justice.

The US Attorney’s office sent dozens of letters to Northern California dispensaries threatening to shut down medical marijuana shops, seize bank accounts, and pursue criminal prosecution against property owners if they don’t stop selling in forty- five days.

If Marin Alliance for Medical Marijuana closes it’s doors the city of Fairfax will suffer as cannabis is the third largest sales tax contributor to the town.

In order to mount a two-pronged defense, the Marin Alliance Family has organized “The Jam for Justice” benefit for the MAMM Legal Defense Fund on Saturday, Nov. 5th, 2011 at 19 Broadway Niteclub in Fairfax. The event starts at High Noon and features well known Bay Area musical acts Moonalice, The Rowan Brothers Band, Terry Haggerty and Friends, along with Bluesetta Band, Bird Leg Jazz, plus Samuka and His Wild Tribe. The benefit will be hosted by the Hollywood Hemptress, comic Tere Joyce. If you are unable to attend the event, you can still make a contribution at www.cbcmarin.com .
